Draw Held by Saskatchewan PNP Issues 295 Invitations

A draw held on 8 July 2021 by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), Saskatchewan’s provincial nomination program, invited 295 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. All candidates were from the International Skilled Worker category; 99 were in the Express Entry subcategory, and 196 were from the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. All candidates were required to have the following:

• An Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 80 or higher
• A completed Educational Credential Assessment
• Work experience in one of the province’s 62 listed in-demand occupations

Those in the Occupations In-Demand subcategory do not require a profile in the federal Express Entry system, unlike those in the Express Entry subcategory. The Occupations In-Demand subcategory is for candidates who have experience in an occupation that is considered in-demand but do not yet have a job offer in Saskatchewan.

EOIs had to be created by candidates in both subcategories. Candidates are required to provide information such as their language aptitude, education, work experience, and connections to Saskatchewan to prove their likelihood of successfully settling in the province. The data provided is scored out of 100. Those in the Express Entry subcategory, if they receive a provincial nomination, can add 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which is provided when they apply for the Express Entry program on the federal level. This boost virtually guarantees the candidates will receive a nomination for permanent residency in a subsequent federal draw.
