248 Applicants Invited in Saskatchewan PNP 11 March 2021 Draw

Saskatchewan’s latest draw through its Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) saw 72 invitations in its Express Entry subcategory and 176 in its Occupations in Demand subcategory, for a total of 248 in the 11 March 2021 event. Candidates in both streams had a minimum EOI score of 71, and all had experience with one of the 70 occupations considered in-demand by the province’s government. These occupations include medical radiation technologists, senior managers (health, education, social and community service), and retail/wholesale buyers, among others.

Those who are in the Occupations in Demand subcategory do not require a federal Express Entry program profile and are skilled professionals in a targeted profession. A job offer from a Saskatchewan employer is also not a requirement for the subcategory. After creating an EOI profile, candidates are assessed according to criteria such as work experience and education, and given a score out of 100 based on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid. Those with the highest scores are invited to submit an application for a provincial nomination that may result in permanent residence.

The Express Entry subcategory entrants needed to have an active profile in the federal government’s Express Entry program, as the PNP is linked to the EE system. Those invited in this recent draw also created EOI profiles and were scored out of 100 on criteria within the Points Assessment Grid. Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination have 600 points added to their Comprehensive Ranking System score, which often boosts their overall point total enough to make a nomination for permanent residence likely.
